Luke Shortland was elected as Councillor for Coulsdon Town in 2022. One of the things Luke loves about Coulsdon is the real variety of shops in the town centre, with everything from a pottery café (where he got his first Saturday job over seven years ago!) to a candle shop. His main priority is to help Coulsdon be a town where local businesses can not only survive, but thrive. Luke also wants to make sure that new developments are appropriate and aesthetically pleasing. Outside of work and politics, Luke is a bit of a foodie, and loves to travel. Luke’s also been learning German for the last few years, and residents are welcome to help him practise!

Our Plan for Coulsdon Town

In October last year, Coulsdon voted massively in favour of change in the Referendum for an elected Mayor for Croydon. On 5th May we have the opportunity to vote in elections that will bring about that change. Let's finish the job.  Over the last eight years Croydon has been run by Labour.

Many residents (including me!) are frustrated at the fact that the LED 'countdown' display showing live bus times at Bus Stop J (outside Card Factory / Coughlans / Caffe Nero) has been out of action for many weeks now. I have been talking with TfL and they have provided me with the response below.

A number of residents have queried the preponderance of Kia’s cars on the former CALAT car park where our new medical centre will be built. Kia have been given temporary permission to use the site for their cars following an agreement with the Council.
