The Budget Council meeting took place last night, I had to sit through a meeting where once again this Labour administration refused to take any responsibility for their mismanagement.
Apparently they are now "listening" "working at pace" and "understand the resident's frustrations" do they, I wonder? Libraries are being closed, swimming pools will not reopen and cuts will effect the most vulnerable in our society. All because they thought they knew best, politicians who became property developers, hospitality magnets and retail experts, they are not even good politicians.
Despair is not a word I use lightly, but you only have to visit the Town Centre to know that because of their incompetence, dither and delay it will be years before it lives again. Once proud shops that were the cornerstone of a vibrant Town Centre will never reopen,
To think that the very people who created this mess think they are equipped to rescue the situation, everyone and everything was blamed, the Government, the opposition Councillors, austerity but somehow the phoenix will rise again, hopefully without this Labour administration at the helm.
