I visited Longheath Gardens last Friday and met with tenants who have the misfortune to live next to a Brick by Brick new build.
Lack of governance and incompetence seem to have been exceeded even by their standards, the new building has been built too close to the existing block, not only that but numerous building errors have caused the original building to subside.
Tenants have seen cracks appear in their walls, plaster to fall from the ceiling, leaks and damp make people's lives a misery.
What has happened, very little, officers have meetings about meetings, consultations, commission independent reports from structural surveyors and still tenants are expected to live in this chaos.
No word from our Cabinet member for housing, no courtesy visit, what political pressure and interest has she shown ? This cabinet preside over Croydon's decline, bins left not emptied, obscene graffiti adorn every wall and billboard, Unfinished brutalist architecture which would do justice to any post war Soviet suburb.assault us from every corner.
