On Good Friday, starting at 9.30am, Cllr Hale and I joined the churches in Sanderstead on their “walk of witness”. The walk began on the Gruffy opposite All Saints’ Church and began the walk with a prayer and Bible reading, and followed one of the group who was carrying a cross.
We walked down the Limpsfield Road by the shops and paused at the junction of Cranleigh Gardens for another prayer and Bible reading. The final prayer was at Sanderstead Recreation Ground on the field where there was also a Bible reading and we sung “When I survey the wondrous cross”.
Over 80 people attended the walk and prayer.
I have also attached the All Saints' and St Antony's newsletter.
