There are a huge number of roadworks due to take place in South Croydon over the next couple of months. Other than the bridge replacement works many of them are to facilitate the new developments being squeezed into the area.
Selsdon Road
Selsdon Road remains closed, between its junctions with Chelsham Road and Sussex Road southside, until 15th January. This is to facilitate bridge replacement and enabling works - cable bridge installation and removal, track lift and slew, piling for abutment extension, removal of existing bridge, installing new bridge. The signed diversion for displaced traffic will be Brighton Road/ A22 / Downs Court Rd / Mitchley Avenue / Rectory Park / Addington Rd / Selsdon Park Rd / Gravel Hill / Coombe Lane / Coombe Rd / St Peters Road/Croham Road.
Sunny Nook Gardens
SGN are carrying out a gas mains replacement scheme in the footway of Sunny Nook Gardens from 26th October to 1st December, A pedestrian walkway has been provided.
Selsdon Road
SGN are using 2 way temporary signals on Selsdon Road to facilitate gas mains replacement works in Sunny Nook Gardens from 26th October to 1st December.
Waddon Way/Haling Park Road/Pampisford Road
To facilitate a new service connection UKPN will be using multi way signals on the roundabout from 1st to 9th December. The signals will be manually controlled from 7.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday only to assist with traffic flows.
Selsdon Road
Thames Water will be using two way signals on Selsdon Road between the junctions with Haling Road and Selsdon Avenue from 2nd to 4th December.
Cliffe Road
To facilitate gas and water services to a new development Cliffe Road will be closed from 26th to 29thJanuary. Residents will still have access and egress but will need to wait for road plates to be put down for them to drive over.
Rolleston Road
To facilitate a new service connection UKPN will be closing Rolleston Road from 15th to 19th February, 2021. The diversion for displaced traffic will be via Bynes Road and Sanderstead Road.
