The Church of St Francis in Monks Hill runs a very successful Food Stop, which is a community food sharing membership scheme. For £3.50 a week members can buy around £20 worth of food, end of line toiletries and household essentials.
Membership is available to people living in Monks Hill, Selsdon and Forestdale, and who have a financial need. Simply sign up at St Francis and if there are spaces you can start shopping straight away.
The Food Stop needs extra storage space to replace a temporary container, which local Councillors Helen Pollard and Robert Ward are very pleased to contribute to from their Ward Budgets. Work has just started on laying the foundations, we look forward to seeing the building complete soon.
