Another week, another campaign session!
The #Norbury #Conservatives are very eager to continue our mission, and speak to as many residents in Norbury, #Croydon as possible! The weather was bitterly cold, but this did not deter the team!
During our first campaigning session of the day, the team unfortunately came across a very run-down, heavily littered, kids playground!
'Northwood Playground' has a lot of potential; it is a big open space, with a nice variety of equipment the local community could enjoy.
Unfortunately, the whole playground looks very rundown, and was a complete mess with lots of litter everywhere, not exactly enticing our younger residents to enjoy!
It's such a shame, the local residents deserve better, and It's very clear our current local labour councillors are not on top of such issues!
Youth crime is worryingly increasing in the area, it is therefore all the more important for our local councillors to invest and maintain public spaces such as these for all to enjoy, hopefully helping with the effort to deter our younger generation in Croydon from getting involved with crime!
The team have reported the litter in the kid’s playground to the Council, and we will of course keep track of it, and make sure the Council take the necessary action ASAP!
Feedback our team receives on the door continues to be very positive; we enjoy engaging with local residents in Norbury.
The Norbury Conservatives have held two public meetings in Norbury recently, the first with the Metropolitan Police borough commander Jeff Boothe, on the 7th December 2017, over 70 local residents attended this public meeting concerning youth crime!

Our second most recent meeting, was held on the 18th January 2018; this was with the Croydon Conservatives group leader for the Council, Cllr Tim Pollard. Over 40 residents attended this meeting, and helps reminds us how passionate the local community is in Norbury, Croydon!

What has become very clear listening to residents, is the very high level of frustration local residents feel in Norbury!
A lady who attended our public meeting with Cllr Tim Pollard on the 18th January 2018, spoke out of her frustration for not being listened to by her local Labour councillors in Norbury.
"When it comes to saying what's on my mind, and having someone to listen, it helps!"
The Norbury Conservatives are always here to listen and help wherever possible, if you need assistance with anything, or you would like to join the team and get involved, please do get in touch:
