I was delighted to hear this week that Brick by Brick’s planning application to build in the car park opposite Sanderstead Railway Station has finally been withdrawn, four and half years after it was originally submitted. This application proposed a three-storey building comprising 14 residential units split equally between one and two bedroom flats. Many local people were unhappy with this proposal, not because of the building of flats per se. as opposite a train station is actually a rather good location for smaller homes, but because it would remove the parking options that many people use to visit the shops and restaurants in the area. There was a fear that the loss of this parking would over time result in the loss of these businesses that bring our community together.
Great to have some positive planning news!
