As many of you already know, due to Labours incompetence, they made Croydon go bankrupt, resulting in many of our front-line Council services being severely impacted or cut completely!
Earlier this year, the Labour run Council decided to freeze/stop the Community Ward Budget.
This is a small amount of money to the Council in the grand scheme of things, but this money was vitally relied on by many charities and community groups across the borough.
Sadly, the Labour Council has now confirmed that due to "ongoing fiscal challenges", the Community Ward budget will remain frozen for at least the rest of this financial year, but will most likely remain frozen indefinitely.
Once again, the poorest and most deprived members of our community and in Shirley South are suffering the most, in the hands of a Labour Council who claim to represent and stand up for those very people in Croydon, clearly, this is not the case!
Croydon deserves better!
