A resident got in touch with me at the end of last week complaining that her refuse bin and food waste caddy had not been replaced for six months,
She'd made a perfectly legitimate request for a new food caddy in February and a refuse bin in April both using the Council's system, yet they've still not been delivered.
The Council should deliver them within 10 weeks.
I raised the case with the Council and I'm grateful for officers confirming the error and promising to get both replacement bins to the resident within five working days.
The system shouldn't fail, but it far too often does. For every resident that gets in contact with a councillor to sort their issue there are likely hundreds that don't - trusting that the system will sort itself out eventually.
If you know someone locally who may need help from the Council then please send them in my direction: [email protected].
