I had the misfortune to sit through the last Traffic Management Advisory Committee where the very controversial LTNs were discussed. Councillors asked searching questions which were swiftly dismissed, dissenting voices were brushed aside, only this discredited administration knows best.
Nearly 20,000 residents signed petitions, came out on a cold miserable Sunday to peaceably demonstrate and reinforce the widespread opposition to this ill thought out policy. To add insult to injury we were then subjected to a lecture from Cllr Scott, that arch eco warrior who has been responsible for systematically concreting over every spare green space, especially the grossly unfair practice of targeting the Borough's Council estates, many vulnerable residents who would delight in their green space, every other yard of grass where children used to play or residents used enjoy the fresh air, alas no more. Hundreds of unwanted, unsaleable too expensive flats have been built.
I am convinced that right will prevail and this policy that favours the few over the many will be scrapped.
