It so nice to see South Croydon Rec back in full use again this weekend. The children’s playground was full of life, football training was taking place and there were numerous runners and walkers around the park.
Thankfully the travellers that made such a mess of the park are gone and the waste they left behind had been cleared. Council officers worked very hard to remove the travellers but were hampered by the need to get an eviction order through the courts, which was taking some time.
I was pleased to join the Friends of South Croydon Rec for one of their regular litter picks this morning. They are making a great job of liking after our park with their butterfly project and bulb planting that’s due to happen soon.
We are fortunate to have such a lovely green oasis in the heart of South Croydon.
