Croydon Council has submitted yet another S114 and the misery continues, besides the incompetenceand disregard for spending public money responsibly; the effect it has in the Community is beginning to take effect Shirley Neighbourhood Care which is at the heart of the community is a wonderful local organisation that has operated in Shirley for many years with an army of dedicated volunteers and part time staff who provide an exceptional service to many of our most vulnerable and elderly residents. Movie nights, lunch clubs, outings just a few of the ways that the community is supported. Through the covid emergency and lockdown restricted support still continued. However, because this administration has bankrupted this Council the most vulnerable will suffer, the November payment of their modest grant was never paid and no doubt will not be paid any time soon. I know that SNC will battle on and do their very best in these unprecedented times.
