By kind permission of the Tesco branch manager, two ward councillors, one from each Purley ward, hold a surgery on the first Saturday of every month in the Tesco entrance hall, and we were there again yesterday, listening to residents' issues and concerns.
The main topics this month were the timetable for the release of the Purley Leisure centre planning application, parking, various local planning issues, and how people could.meet their MP.
Many Purley Tesco customers come from well beyond Purley's boundaries so sometimes we have to direct them to Sutton, but whatever the query, it's good to be visible and accessible, even if shoppers don't have any current issues which they want to debate with us.
