Purley Leisure Centre plans finally unveiled

I'm delighted that the Purley Leisure centre plans are now available for public viewing and comment under reference 24/00775/FUL here:

. The plans include

  • two new pools
  • huge gym
  • restaurant & bar
  • shops
  • large community square
  • improved access from High Street to the station
  • 220 "Integrated Retirement Community" flats
  • 50 short-term car spaces + 28 for residents

There are 133 documents in the complete application, so it will take some time to plough through them all, but I'm delighted that, providing the application gets approved by Croydon's planning committee and the GLA, the renewal of Purley's town centre is finally under way.

Update on Coulsdon Town Bus Stop Display

Many residents (including me!) are frustrated at the fact that the LED 'countdown' display showing live bus times at Bus Stop J (outside Card Factory / Coughlans / Caffe Nero) has been out of action for many weeks now. I have been talking with TfL and they have provided me with the response below.
