Residents around Northwood Road will be families with Northwood Road Recreation Ground, a small playground in a neighbourhood with many young families. Unfortunately, it has been neglected by Croydon's Labour Council. It isn't properly cleaned and upkept, and fly-tips are allowed to fester around it. It is in no fit state, and this is shameful.
Worse, it isn't just being neglected - Labour's local plan has removed local protections from it, leaving it vulnerable to inappropriate development. We need quality playgrounds for the young - which is why I am campaigning to protect Northwood Playground from development, and to rescue it from neglect.
