Residents in Kenley and Purley have contacted local councillors to express concern over recent street robberies and attacks in Purley.
In his role as both a ward councillor for Kenley and Cabinet Member for Community Safety, Cllr Kolade is working with the police to address the situation.
Inspector Andrew Smith has put in additional resources into Purley and there will now be morning and afternoon police coverage for the immediate few weeks.
The council and the police work closely to share information and we will be working towards addressing the issues leading to this increase and looking to identify and deal with the offenders and hope to be in a position to report a reduction in the rate of robberies in the area very soon.
