Pedestrian access along the station side of Hayes Lane, from Park Road to Station Road, is challenging due to the narrow pavement. This issue is particularly problematic during wet and warm weather.
Recently, I requested Southern Railway to trim the vegetation encroaching from their land. I would like to extend my thanks for their swift response and action. As shown in the photos below, overhanging trees have been cut back, significantly improving the walkway.
Additionally, I have contacted the council about the overgrowth at the stretch just before Hayes Lane ascends the hill. The council has confirmed that it has written to the relevant parties to address this issue.
There is also significant overgrowth on the A22 between Lower Road and Hayes Lane. The council has contacted Transport for London (TfL), the highway authority for this section. TfL has issued a notice to the landowners, requesting them to trim the overgrowth. We anticipate seeing this vegetation cut back shortly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to improve pedestrian access in these areas.
