Tackling flooding and dealing with the effects of it is a key priority for me and I’ve previously blogged about this. This is particularly pertinent for Foxley Lane and the surrounding area.
It’s a subject I raise regularly with Council officers.
I am pleased to confirm that the Council’s contractor has commenced a deep cleaning/camera survey of the drainage infrastructure within the Foxley Lane catchment. The contractor started the works upstream (i.e. Manor Way and Manor Wood Road) and are working their way downstream towards Foxley Lane.
A camera survey will help to identify defects within the drainage system so that remedial works can be arranged.
With Foxley Lane being resurfaced next week, I have been assured by Council officers that following resurfacing all gullies will be cleaned and jetted to remove any tarmac and debris that may have fallen into the gullies.
I know there is more to do on this important issue, but I welcome progress made to date,
