I’d thought I’d write to let you know our upcoming Dementia Friendly screenings. I’ve attached our latest flyer. We hope you can publicise these for us.
Next week we have:-
ALIVE AND KICKING (PG) Tue 3 December at 11am
Stars: Sybil Thorndike, Kathleen Harrison, Estelle Winwood
Three elderly ladies, fed up of living in a care home, escape to an island off the Irish Coast to start a new life. Look out for Richard Harris in his first feature film role.
Then scheduled for next year:-
FOOTLOOSE (12A) Tue 7 January at 11am
Kevin Bacon plays a teenager who moves from Chicago to a small town, and rebels against the ban on dancing instituted by an influential local preacher whose daughter is his classmate.
THE WIZ (U) Tue 4 February at 11am
This Motown update of the children’s classic book stars Diana Ross and Michael Jackson as Dorothy and The Scarecrow, with musical production by Quincy Jones.
AMERICAN GRAFFITI (PG) Tue 4th March at 11am
Where were you in ‘62? A group of recent high school graduates cruise around their local town to the sound of classic rock and roll before they face adult life.
MAMMA MIA! (PG) Tue 1 April at 11am
Based on the songs of ABBA, this film of the long running West End musical tells the story of a bride-to-be who invites three men to her wedding to discover which of them is her father.
A reminder on our screenings: -
- All our volunteers have been trained by a representative from the Alzheimer’s Society.
- We are an accredited Dementia Friendly venue.
- Films have subtitles.
- The lights are not fully dimmed.
- Free Hot Drinks, Squash and Biscuits.
- £5 entry, free for carers
- Book on the day or in advance via the website.
