Whilst out delivering a few leaflets in New Addington North for the Council by-election there, I came across a poster on one of the residents notice boards for Croydon Works - a scheme set up by the Council for recruitment, apprenticeships and training.
A good idea and part of the economic development programme we should be having in Croydon during these tough times.
Just a shame that after the Council financial crisis and bankruptcy the Council has now scrapped Croydon Works and put 10 of the 15 staff working in economic development out of a job.
It seems the Council's Labour administration are happy promote work they should be doing but then fail to deliver on. And it's the residents of Croydon who have to pay the increased Council Tax to cover their failures.
