Residents in the Old Lodge Lane end of Kenley have expressed frustration over the newly introduced 312 bus route, which reportedly fails to stop at Purley High Street and the Purley Tesco stops on a consistent basis. This issue has raised concerns among residents, particularly those who heavily rely on public transport for their daily activities, including elderly citizens, individuals with disabilities, and families with young children.
Over this weekend I contacted Transport for London (TfL) to address these concerns and inquire about the reasons behind the missed stops. A prompt response was received from the Local Communities & Partnerships team at TfL who acknowledged the issue and assured that it is being actively addressed.
According to the response the TfL team, the matter has been brought to the attention of the bus team, who are already aware of the situation. They are currently working with the bus operation company to rectify the issue promptly and ensure that all bus stops are served as per the scheduled timetable.
I remain hopeful that the bus service will soon resume stopping at Purley High Street and the Purley Tesco stops as outlined in its route schedule.
