This morning the Croydon Conservatives and I, proudly attended the Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony, outside Croydon Town Hall.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show our support for the brave men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops, to Service families, veterans and cadets. Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much-valued morale boost for our troops and their families, whilst taking time to remember the sacrifices they selflessly give when serving for their country!
I am from a family who have an immensely proud history serving for their country during both world wars, and it was fantastic to see a good turnout for the ceremony, despite the wet weather. But of course, it is the very least we can do to help show our respect for all those in the Service, who help protect and represent our nation around the world, the Service families, and of course Veterans, all of whom deserve our upmost respect!
I want to personally give my thanks and gratitude to them all, we will forever be in their debt.
Thank you.
