Cllr Andy Stranack (Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture) joined Mayor Jason Perry at the launch event for Croydon Stands Tall hosted by Croydon Bid at the South Bank London Croydon Campus last Tuesday Evening (11th October).
Croydon Stands Tall will showcase an art trail lasting 10 weeks, bringing people together from the whole community, attracting visitors and footfall as well as supporting the local economy. In total there will be 30 eight-foot-tall giraffes located around Croydon, all uniquely and individually painted by local artists. The trail forms part of Croydon becoming the London Borough of Culture from April 23 to March 24 and will form part of a series of local national and international events which will celebrate the diverse and colourful cultures that make up Croydon.
