Cllr. Andy Stranack and Cllr. Robert Ward joined with the library team at Selsdon Library this morning (19th May) to try out the new Open+ technology. The new technology allows members to access Selsdon library services between 10am – 6pm on Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm on Saturday. The library will be staffed on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at other times you will be able to use the IT services and check in and out books using the new self-service tills.
Andy commented:-
“The new remote access at Selsdon library extends the use of the facility throughout the week, the new technology is easy to use. This is a trial period where the staff can learn how best to use the new technology and iron out any issues and problems. At this stage of the trail we are asking any child under 16 to be accompanied by an adult when remote access is available.
Once the trail is over we will be looking at how we can roll out remote access to other libraries across the Borough. It is great that residents in the Selsdon area now have extended hours access to Library services. I would encourage local residents to sign up for the trial so that we can use technology alongside our amazing library staff to make community facilities more available for everyone.”
