The Labour Council has launched five surveys for Croydon "Healthy Neighbourhoods", which the Council claims will make local streets quieter, safer and healthier.
This consultation on proposed changes to five Healthy Neighbourhood schemes in Broad Green and Addiscombe, will close on the Wednesday 14th July 2021.
Please make sure you complete the relevant survey/s before the deadline on Wednesday 14th July 2021.
The survey links are as follows:
- Broad Green CHN: Parsons Mead Area
- Broad Green CHN: Sutherland Road
- Addiscombe CHN: Dalmally Road
- Addiscombe CHN: Elmers Road
- Addiscombe CHN: Kemerton Road
For three of the schemes – at Dalmally Road and Elmers Road in Addiscombe and at Sutherland Road in Broad Green – the council proposes to replace planters with enforcement cameras.
The council is also exploring two new options for residents to comment on the best local solution to a fourth scheme in the Parsons Mead area of Broad Green, including one-way traffic changes at Derby Road.
The council is also consulting on making permanent the planter closure at Kemerton Road, this would require a final decision at TMAC in October.
Following feedback received from this consultation, the data will then go to the Transport Management Advisory Committee (TMAC) in the autumn.
It is proposed any scheme would last up to 18 months and would include air quality and traffic level monitoring.
I hope this data will be used to fully determine if these schemes improve local air quality, including using baseline data to compare, and not just a means to unfairly introduce a new stealth tax on to residents, which will disproportionately impact the poorest in Croydon!
If you have any problems taking part in the consultation, please let me know at [email protected].
Thank you.
Cllr Scott Roche
Shadow Cabinet Member for Sustainable Croydon.
