Out and about in Coulsdon

The three Coulsdon West Councillors had a busy morning in Coulsdon yesterday, meeting first with Chipstead Councillors to discuss cross-border issues including Cane Hill, Lion Green Road and the Woodmansterne Lagoon.
We then met with governors from Chipstead Valley Primary School to talk about inconsiderate parking by some parents at the school and measures that can be taken to tackle the issue of parking of vehicles across or partially across drives when dropped kerbs are in place - as well as parking on pedestrian crossings or the area covered by the zig-zag markings. The latter infringements endanger the lives of children and motorists can receive a Penalty Charge Notice. In future, photographs of illegally parked cars will be forwarded to the Police and Croydon’s parking enforcement officers.
If you ever see anybody parking or driving illegally or in a way that is risking the lives of children, take a picture or note down the registration, time and place and email the Coulsdon West SNT on CoulsdonWest.email@example.com
Likewise, Croydon parking enforcement can be reached on 020 8760 1966 and by Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or text: SMS "PARKING" + details to 60660
We have asked the Coulsdon SNT to keep patrolling during pick up and drop off times, but with limited resources and many schools to do this with, they would appreciate your help.
Lastly, we had a walkabout with Coulsdon West SNT PC Chris Evans, who briefed us on a number of anti-social behaviour issues in the town which he is seeking to address with dispersal orders and installation of CCTV. PC Evans is an enthusiastic and energetic policeman who is keen to make the town a better place to do business, shop and socialise. Please do get in touch with him on the email address above if you have any concerns or information that you believe is useful.
