Coulsdon Town toilet broken AGAIN

We had thought that the saga of the perenially broken Coulsdon Town toilet was over. How naive of us!
It was brought to my attention last week that it was, yet again, not fully operational. The sinks have had no running water for at least two months and the door has not been able to be locked by those in need of the facility. This is clearly not acceptable.
In January the Council assured me that 'We will be arranging for increased NSO monitoring along this section of Brighton Road, particularly around the time that the schools finish, to try to dissuade kids from congregating outside and misusing the facility. Regular checks of the toilets will also be carried out so that any issues that arise can be dealt with promptly'. If it is correct that the sinks have not been working for two months, then this means that assurance has been broken.
'I have written to the Council for an urgent update and received the following reply: 'I am very sorry to hear of the further issues with the Coulsdon public toilet. I have closed the toilet to the public until the matter is resolved.
'Daniel aware of the two current issues (no running water for the hand basin and broken locking mechanism). He has provided this information to our private contractor for them to initiate repairs and hopes that this will be resolved very shortly.'
I will keep updating this blog as and when more information is provided.
