Toni Letts and her magic economic policies

Last night I asked Cllr Toni Letts, Cabinet Member for Croydon's Economic Development, a written question:
'Would the Cabinet Member please detail the JSA claimant count for 18-24 year olds, for the London Borough of Croydon, on a month by month basis, from May 2014 – August 2014, and detail the percentage change over that period.'
In her answer she explains:
'The positive trend of reducing the number of JSA claimants for both 18-24 year olds and all claimants was maintained over this specific period. There was a -6% reduction in the 18-24 cohort and a -12.20% reduction for all claimants within the working age cohort.'
I then had the opportunity to ask her this question:
“I'm sure I join her in welcoming the month on month fall in local youth unemployment. On 1st September Cllr Letts said that the latest huge reduction in joblessness in Croydon is (and I quote) 'testament to the effectiveness of the policies the Labour administration has introduced since being voted in by the people of Croydon in May and show that we’re surpassing our claim that we’re ambitious for Croydon'. The administration had been in power for two months at that point, making her claim all the more impressive.
As Cllr Letts believes the policies of the previous Conservative administration and the national Conservative-led Government have had no impact on reducing local unemployment, can I please ask the Cabinet Member to specifically outline which of her superfast magic Labour economic policies have enabled her to take full credit for reducing unemployment in a matter of weeks?”
Cllr Letts, when asked for specific policy initiatives that she'd introduced to combat unemployment said: “In two months, what we have done? We have inspired people.” Magic touch indeed.
Her full response, which surprisingly doesn't answer my questions, can be viewed on the Council website.
