A number of residents have raised concerns in respect of the development at 43 Kingswood Lane now called Fair Oaks House, a block of flats which was approved under application: 19/01561/FUL. Sadly there appears to have been a severe breach of the approved planning application and the building is projecting 1.5 meters from the originally approved site. This and other matters have been raised with me in respect of adherence to the original plans. A further non-referable application has been lodged 20/06583/CONR to address these matters and I have been in touch with officers because I believe that this goes no way far enough to mitigate the breach. You are able to respond in respect of the application.
There are a number of other issues arising such as not planting at the far park and footpath boundary, no mention of the bike store, rebuilding of the “shed” at the front of the property which is supposed to be a bin store – a complete eye-sore, or the installation of the car charging point. A number of matters need rectifying for which I understand there is an acceptance, such as the decking at the rear and sides needs to be replaced, installation of play equipment, the rear patio requires replacement, installation of paving slabs to the bin store, fencing adjacent to 41 and 45 need replacing and the planting scheme. I have responded noting that this building faces greenbelt in a very narrow country lane leading to the ancient Kings Woods and it is extremely important that the character of the area is respected. This hard and stark car park at the front of the property is not representative of its green surrounds. The application does not go far enough to mitigate this. The response from officers is as follows: An assessment of the plans has not yet been undertaken. Thank you for bringing those material planning considerations to our attention, these will be fully assessed prior to determination of the application.
