I have been working with Wendy Parr from Sanderstead and Selsdon Rotary to see how we can raise awareness of all the good work they do and carry that forward in to some areas in the locality that currently don't seem to receive support. In particular we are looking at the area of Hamsey Green which although forms a border with Warlingham is clearly in the ward of Sanderstead and under Rotary's remit. Rotary have been undertaking sterling work in supporting our elderly communities during the COVID pandemic and have delivered numerous packages along with other types of assistance.
I also facilitated the discussion with Dr John French on the vaccine process. We know that the vaccine has been rolled out in all the care homes as I write this article but some residents who are housebound and are in their 80's are still awaiting the vaccination. It is more difficult with the Pfeizer vaccination due to transportation but the Oxford vaccine is much easier to administer. It was good to have Dr John French answer all our questions for which we are all very grateful.
