Local postmen have informed residents that another three have been taken sick today, meaning that of the 31 usually delivering in Coulsdon just 13 are still in action.
Earlier in the month we were told that the delivery office was at just 50% staffed capacity.
Whilst it can be frustrating, a delay in our mail is a small price to pay for us all to get through this pandemic. The minority of people seem to have forgotten that those who are still permitted to go out and work are human, just like the rest of us, and so are also prone to the risk of catching Covid-19. It shouldn't therefore be a surprise that some of our services will be impacted by those people being taken ill or having to self-isolate.
Our local postal workers are doing their absolute best under incredibly difficult circumstances. A huge thank you to them and all who are out keeping things going. I know the vast majority in our community are incredibly grateful for your efforts.
