There's a continuous stream of planning applications all over Purley, but this is the first time I've seen two applications lodged at the same time for the same site by the same developer. It's almost as if they're taking an each-way bet, assuming that if one doesn't get permission then the other will. 20/05869/FUL is for a 31bed care home spread over 5.5 floors while 20/05870/FUL is for the inevitable nine flats, this time spread over "only" 4.5 floors.
You can still comment on the care home application if you wish, either on the Council website or simply by sending an email to [email protected] no later than 31/01/2021.
