Cllr. Andy Stranack (Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon and Communities) recently met up with Pastor Bola Thomas from His Grace Evangelical Outreach to learn about the community work her Church undertakes. The Church group runs a food bank from their building in Beulah Road, Thornton Heath. The Foobank has been open for five years and opens three days a week, it currently serves 250 people in the local community.

" Pastor Bola has such a heart to serve the local community, 2020 has been a really tough year with COVID 19, lockdowns and social isolation leading to poor mental health. What has been inspirational for me is visiting so many community groups that are working so hard to serve their communities. Pastor Bola is an inspiration she has battled ill health and come through to serve Croydon with the food supplies and also runs holiday clubs and meals for children in the Thornton Heath area. It is these community groups that have provided a little light in the 2020 darkness."
