I wanted to share with you this great press release from Ridgeway Primary School. What fantastic children we have here at the school.
There has rarely been a better time to give back to the wider community and support families hardest hit by the pandemic. The members of the PTCA of Ridgeway Primary School in Sanderstead wanted to do something to help the Purley Food Hub who have been working tirelessly to provide food and other items to people in crisis.
On Wednesday, 16.12.2020 the children of Ridgeway Primary School were invited to exchange their school uniform for the day for a Christmas Jumper. In return for wearing a festive jumper the PTCA kindly asked if the children could make a voluntary donation for the local Purley Food Hub.
The Purley Food Hub are a charity food bank helping people in crisis in the local Purley and larger Croydon communities.
The children were asked to bring in prioritised donation items including; cartons of long life whole milk, small packs or boxes of Tea Bags, adult toothbrushes, chocolate treats for children, tinned peas and carrots and desert items such as packet custard, rice pudding and Christmas biscuits.
The members of the PTCA of Ridgeway Primary School who organised this event were thrilled at the support given by the families at the school for the charity, results can be seen in the images below:
While the school’s initiative was a success the Purley Food Hub are still accepting donations so if anyone else in the local community would like to support this wonderful charity this Christmas, please get in touch with the team at [email protected]
