I have received the following from Thames Water:
'I am emailing to let you know about a burst water pipe on A21 Bromley Common, BR2 9RJ that may be impacting water supplies in the Shirley North and Shirley South ward.
Around 6am this morning we were alerted to reports of flooding and a loss of water supply in the area. Our teams quickly joined the Fire Brigade on site where they believed the burst was located. The burst was located on an 18 inch pipe, which has now been isolated.
Some residents in the BR1, BR2, BR4, BR5, BR7, CR0, DA14, SE9 and SE10 postcode areas may have experienced no water or low pressure throughout the morning. Now that the damaged pipework has been isolated, our teams are working to re-route water as well as pumping extra water into the network to return to supplies to these area. We are also making contingency plans and bottled water is in the area, should we need to open a collection point. I will be sharing a copy of this email with the ward councillors of these areas to keep them updated.
Our teams have also been working to identify and contact any resident on our Priority Services Register, to update them and provide them with assistance as required.
We are updating our incident page on our website to share the latest information as it happens.'
Thank you
Cllr Jason Cummings
