As local ward councillors Michael,Jason and myself are proud to have supported so many local projects through the South Croydon Ward Budget over the years. We insisted all the projects should benefit our local area or community. We supported local groups and charities too many to list individually. It was great to see them come to fruition and enrich our local area and help local residents and children like the Community Garden and History Boards in Birdhurst Ave, laptops for the most vulnerable children at Purley Oaks Primary during Lockdown, support too for the South Croydon Food Festival, Croham Hurst Good Neighbours, South Croydon Allotments, the Waggy Tails Club, St Augustines Church notice board and gardening support and many many more.
It is particularly disappointing that projects that we agreed like more Christmas lights, support for electric bike for our local police team and support for local charities were stopped this year. They were stopped because the Labour Administration has bankrupted the Council through financial mismanagement.
Sadly the impact of the bankruptcy will damage residents of Croydon for years to come.
