I was really sorry to hear that the CVA is preparing to say goodbye this month to its 81 Appropriate Adults – local volunteers who have supported young people, vulnerable adults and unaccompanied minors at Croydon’s Custody Suite over the last five years. The Council’s decision to withdraw the Appropriate Adults project from CVA, placing it instead with a national, commercial agency, came as a surprise to them – especially in a year during which they have received so much support in mobilising a huge volunteer effort in response to Covid19. Do take a look at their video - https://youtu.be/7yQf8llm6ik celebrating their volunteers’ work. I would also like to thank them for delivering this award-winning project so successfully.
It is another blow to hardworking volunteers supporting the residents in Croydon as a result of Croydon Labour's mismanagement of their finances.
