At Sunday's litter pick I noticed a considerable amount of rubbish, much of it very unsanitary, in an external stairwell behind what I thought was the car park fronting onto Whytecliffe Road South. By Monday I was contacted by a member of the Graffiti Team who advised me that the area was actually part of the old Sainsburys and as a one-off they would clear it for me.
This morning I was contacted again, to be told that all of the rubbish had been removed and they'd even jet washed the whole area as the filth was so ingrained.
Sadly, this really will be a one-off as members of the Grafitti Team have been advised by the Labour Council that their team is to disbanded. This is obviously dreadful for those whose jobs are affected and also for Croydon residents as the work this team does makes such a positive difference to our town.
