Using my time as Shadow Leader of the House of Commons this morning to hold the Government accountable after Labour’s first 70 days in Government. Keir Starmer claimed his Government would be “Open and transparent”. Yet now he refuses to provide the impact assessment of his removal of winter fuel allowances from most pensioners – which Labour previously said would kill 3,850 people. In summary, Labour’s first 70 days in Government – helping Labour’s donors and trade union paymasters, while hitting pensioners and breaking their promises not to release serious violent offenders from prison early.
