We've had an update from the Council's development company on their plans for the development of the Lion Green Road site:
We are writing with an update on our proposals for new homes in Lion Green Road. As you may be aware, Brick By Brick were granted planning consent for this development of 157 new homes in January 2019. Full details of this scheme can be viewed on the public access register www.croydon.gov.uk/onlineplans using the reference 17/06297/FUL.
Appointment of Contractor
We are pleased to confirm the appointment of CField Construction Limited as the main contractor to build the development. We anticipate that the main construction works will begin on site in September and some initial works such as surveys and further securing of the site will take place prior to the main works starting. The anticipated completion date of the development is Winter 2022.
Initial works and car park closure
Initial works include commencing with the construction of the new car park with completion of this aimed for Spring 2021. It is planned that 50% of the car park will close when these works begin. The final design and layout of the new public car park is currently being discussed with Croydon Council’s Planning and Parking teams. Once this has been agreed, we will post a news update here.
Communication with stakeholders
The attached leaflet will be distributed to approximately 600 residents and businesses surrounding the site, and within Coulsdon town centre, in the next few days to provide an update. It will also be emailed to various resident associations. The leaflet includes the planning reference number and details of the Commonplace website https://liongreenroad.commonplace.is/ where further information relating to the scheme, including FAQs, can be found. Regular news updates will be also be posted to the Commonplace website and subscribers will receive an email notification of these updates.
An opportunity for residents/businesses/stakeholders to meet virtually with CField Construction will be provided next month and will take place prior to the main construction works starting. We will share details of this event with you in due course and we’d be pleased if you could also attend. CField will be distributing an introductory newsletter to residents/businesses and stakeholders, including an invitation to the event and we will email this to you once it is available.
