Many of the abandoned building sites approved by the previous administration are now overgrown with the hoardings in a state of disrepair. I have been in touch with the new owners of the site at the Rectory opposite the Sanderstead roundabout and it is hoped that this will be repaired this month. I have also reported many of the other sites including the hoarding which came down over the last week surrounding the Lidl site on Tithe Pit Shaw Lane. The hoarding at 3 West Hill is also now dangerous. It has been problematic for officers to hold new owners to account since many of the sites have either been sold or are in the process of transition.
It is vitally important that these sites remain secure until new owners are able to make good the hoardings or in some cases replace them completely.
