As councillors, we have been informed that a cashless parking trial will take place in Purley from Tuesday 2nd January 2024 following the success of the South Croydon trial over the summer. Pilots will also take place in New Addington and Addiscombe and will last for three weeks.
From Tuesday 2nd January, the 'pay and display' machines will be switched off and therefore unable to dispense tickets. Instead, motorists will need to use the RingGo cashless parking app on their smartphones or call RingGo on 0203 046 0010 to obtain a free session or alternatively visit a local PayPoint location (the nearest is the Londis at the Shell Foxley Garage).
The Council does not apply surcharges to use RingGo, but do check your settings. There will also be a no return period of two hours after leaving a location.
The council welcomes any comments on this trial, via an online survey, available at www.croydon.gov.uk/PurleyCPSurvey The survey will close on Monday 22 January 2024.
