I was so pleased to receive confirmation from officers last week that footpath 109 which links Purley Station with the High Street would be resurfaced. The works have taken place and it was great to see it on Saturday.
I was first contacted about this by Ketan Patel, owner of Bon Bon Newsagents and have since been pushing officers for several months about this footpath which unsafe. I was originally told that although the footpath was not aesthetically pleasing, it did not meet the risk matrix for works.
Others too have been pushing for this including the Purley BID and Purley Panel so I'm really glad Council officers have listened and acted in the interests of residents and local businesses.
