It was great to visit the Croydon Children’s Library last Saturday to kick off Black History Month and attend the Black British Book Festival. It was a real pleasure to meet talented author and illustrator Atinuke & Kingsley Nebechi and Author Sabine Adeyinka. They gave fascinating presentations about their work and answered a number of challenging questions from the young audience about their books.
On Sunday I joined Deputy Mayor (Cllr. Lynne Hale) at the Interfaith Harvest Festival taking place in the Braithwaite Hall. The well attended event had presentations from a number of contributors focusing on what action faith communities can take to be good stewards of our world and environment. It was a real pleasure to support these events as part of the ongoing year of Borough of Culture. To find out more about the celebrations and events please visit CultureCroydon.com .
