There are a number of planning applications across Purley & Woodcote that I wanted to alert residents to.
Either myself or my ward colleague, Cllr Holly Ramsey can refer applications to the Planning Committee. Our colleague, Cllr Simon Brew is unable to as he is currently a full member of the Committee.
A referral from a councillor means if Council officers recommend approval, the application will automatically go to the Planning Committee for consideration.
There is a big application that has come-back in the form of 26-52 Whytecliffe Road South, which currently has 100 objections. There have been revisions to this application and as such residents and local councillors are being re-consulted.
Either Holly or myself will be referring this application which will be the demolition of the existing three terraced houses, redevelopment of these and the existing surface level car park. If approved, it would lead to the erection of a part 6/part 8/part 9 storey building and separate part 4/part 5 storey building to provide 238 residential units together with replacement station car park.
We recognise residents will be worried about this application and believe that it will strongly change the character of Purley so we encourage you to share your views on this. The deadline for submission of views is Tuesday 10th October.
In addition to 26-52 Whytecliffe Road South, there are four new applications, which we have concerns about:
· 4 More Close - 23/02956/FUL - The demolition of existing dwelling and the construction of a part- three/part-four-storey building to accommodate 9 flats with associated vehicular access, vehicle and cycle parking and refuse provision along with hard and soft landscaping. The deadline for receiving comments is Thursday 21st September. Holly has referred this application.
· 30 Wyvern Road - 23/03163/FUL - Erection of ground floor side and rear extensions and a rear roof dormer to facilitate the conversion of the dwelling into 4 flats, along with sub-division of the rear garden for private and communal amenity space. External structures are proposed for cycle storage and refuse storage. The deadline for receiving comments is Thursday 28th September. This is the third application from this applicant this year with applications for four and seven flats respectively refused. I have referred this application.
· 21A Godstone Road - 23/02892/FUL - Demolition of existing dwelling and erection of a new 3-storey building comprising 3 self-contained flats with parking to the front. The deadline for receiving comments is Friday 29th September. Whilst we have some concerns about this application, we have decided to remain neutral on this one as we believe it meets the policy threshold to obtain approval.
· 13A Russell Hill - 23/03346/FUL - Demolition of existing dwelling and erection of a part-2, part-3 storey building with habitable roofspace to create 8 flats, with associated parking, cycle storage, bin & recycling storage and landscaping. The deadline for receiving comments is Monday 9th October. I will be referring this application.
