St Christopher's Hospice AGM

I was pleased to attend St Christopher's Hospice AGM on behalf of our Executive Mayor Jason Perry.  They provide such a range of support via their centre in Sydenham but also to five London Boroughs (including Croydon) through outreach work.  The words of Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the hospice,  are so important "you matter because you are you and you matter until the last moment of your life".

I also had an opportunity to tour the centre and see the excellent medical and nursing care on offer alongside emotional, practical and spiritual support.

My thanks to all the staff and volunteers who put so much effort into making those final days easier for not only those who are very ill but for families, friends and carers.
