Planning permission was given by the former Labour Administration to demolish a lovely family home and replace it with a large block of flats. Situated on the corner of West Hill and Selsdon rd it is opposite 56 West Hill now under construction as flats. It was clearly Labours plan to intensify development in the South Croydon ward demolishing much needed family homes.
The developer recently knocked down the garden shed at 444 Selsdon road but Planning Enforcement visited at my request and confirmed that the planning permission for the block of flats had expired.
The developer will now have to bring forward a new application should he wish to develop 444 Selsdon road. Good news for the residents who have fought so hard to stop inappropriate development of a family home
