A number of residents have commented to me about their dismay at seeing the block of flats being built at 270 Selsdon road on the corner of Selsdon road and Carlton Ave. Since Mayor Perry was elected we have seen a number of really inappropriate planning applications for blocks of flats replacing family homes refused by the Conservative chaired Planning Committee.
Sadly this application was pushed through by the former Labour Administration not long before the Local Elections over a year ago.I spoke against it at committee. It makes me angry every time I walk past to see it already so close to and looming above residential properties on Selsdon road and Carlton Ave. A three/four storey building on quite a small plot the negative impact on neighbours and the local area is clear to see and it’s not nearly finished yet.
It’s a depressing reminder of the damage done to our area by the former Labour Administration
