I was happy to accept the invitation from Christian Family Concern to visit them at Wallis House in South Park Hill road. I have visited this charity before to hear about the work they do in the community
On this occasion we discussed the work they do with pregnant young women and the semi independent accommodation and support they offer them.
These are very vulnerable young women who have no support from their families some care experienced and are often victims of domestic or sexual abuse.
We discussed how the Council could work with them particularly around accommodation when they need to move on.
